Anfissa - November 2010

I was delighted when I was contacted by Anfissa back in September 2010 requesting an appointment to come and see our collections and potentially have a piece designed exclusively fo her. Her gown was being made back home in Switzerland and everything about her wedding was so elegant that I knew we needed a design which was simple and clean but with lovely texture to balance the gorgeous lace detailing of Anfissa's gown.

As soon as Anfissa arrived she was immediately drawn to our freshwater pearl and crystal double headband design Melissa which sits within our 2011 Spring collection. And it was the perfect choice. The subtle pattern and the warmth of the pearls plus the shape of the piece suited Anfissa so well that the decision was made to have this design created for her within minutes! And the advantage of being based minutes away from a tube station on the Heathrow branch of the Piccadilly Line became quite important as Anfissa flew in to collect her piece upon completion!

Emma - July 2010

I first met Emma and her Mum at the National Wedding Show at Olympia in February 2010 and I was delighted to invite them for an appointment to discuss Emma's requirements in more detail.

Initially Emma had wanted a more traditional style tiara but after seeing and trying on more design samples in our appointment room, it was decided to go for a more unusual floral asymmetric design based on our Un Fiore design. Using a silk floral shape as the centrepiece on a base of curled wire which is finished with a mix of freshwater pearl and Swarovski crystal and golden shadow clusters. This produces an elegant and very pretty accessory which suits Emma and her whole ensemble beautifully.

Emma also wore our best selling pendant - the simple but unusual Swarovski polygon pendant. Usually we present this on a silver chain with silver pendant hanger but to complement Emma's jewellery I commissioned 9ct gold pendant hangers especially for her.

I also designed the bridesmaid hair accessories and they wore similar pendants to Emma.

Katy - January 2010

This piece was a designed for Katy and was a delight to create. Originally Katy had wanted something simple and elegant and was particularly drawn to our encrusted double headband designs. But at our consultation I advised Katy to stick to a single encrusted band as this better suited her. However we agreed that this would be too simple and looked into ideas to add more detail to the piece without losing sight of the elegance required to complement Katy's wedding day.

Eventually we decided upon an asymmetric design which although looks quite bold still has an air of elegance. I showed Katy two designs which she fell in love with and we decided to amalgamate the two to create this wonderful design. The band was encrusted in freshwater pearls and swarovski crystal and the decorative detail was layers of curled wiring finished with pearl and crystal to form a dome like shape which was then encircled with sweeping curls of wire finished with crystal (and this new design became the inspiration behind two of the designs in our new collections - hydrangea and hydrangeas (which was shown on the catwalk at the National Wedding Show at Olympia a couple of weeks ago).

Taking Katy's monochrome theme to provide the beading colours for her hair accessory, I also looked to use different shaped Swarovski cystal and freshwater pearls to provide extra texture. Apart from using round, xilion and helix shaped crystal I also used cube shaped crystal to complement Katy's princess cut engagement ring. Rather than use an even mix of the swarovski jet, black diamond, crystal silver shade and crystal beads, I graduated the colours so that the base was a mix of jet and pearl, graduating up through the colours until we reached a bright centre of crystal and silver shade. This helped to soften the impact of the colours to ensure that we retained the look Katy was looking for.

I also designed a freshwater pearl and diamante bracelet for Katy and Swarovski white and mystic black pearl with diamante bracelets for her bridesmaids.
